Our public sector client are looking for an Operational Support Assistant to join them on a temporary basis.Location : Mountsorrel Depot (with occasional support at Croft Depot, as required)Hours : 22 hours per week over 3 days (flexible working arrangements considered)About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and highly organised Operational Support Assistant to join our team, primarily based at our Mountsorrel Depot. This pivotal role supports our operational services through a variety of administrative and customer-facing tasks. While primarily stationed at Mountsorrel, the successful candidate should be prepared to occasionally work from Croft Depot, with appropriate notice provided.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to operational teams, ensuring efficiency and compliance with internal processes.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assessing incoming queries and responding in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conduct data entry, analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making across the service.
  • Communicate professionally with a range of stakeholders via phone, email, and in person, including preparing and delivering presentations when necessary.
  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of administrative systems and workflows.
  • Contribute flexibly to team priorities and be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks as required.
  • Travel between depots or to other locations across the county when business needs arise (with notice).Key Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in administrative processes and procedures, ideally within a service delivery environment.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, demonstrating strong assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities and a good working knowledge of common software tools (e.g. Excel, Word, databases).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to develop, embed and maintain efficient administrative procedures to support operational success.
  • Flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to learning and supporting varied tasks.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or equivalent travel arrangements) to allow movement between locations when needed.What We Offer
