Howden St. Andrew’s Primary is a denominational school which was established in February 1970. It has a Nursery Class and stages P1-P7 with a current roll of 338, led by an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Senior Leadership team. The catchment area serves Howden, Craigshill, Ladywell and Livingston Village. The shared vision, values and aims ensure that a relationship-based approach and well-being is the priority for learners, families and staff. Howden St. Andrew’s is currently situated in SIMD 2 therefore the catchment includes some areas of high deprivation. Howden St. Andrew’s strives to build up the whole school community providing measures for excellence and equity.
Howden St. Andrew’s is part of the local community both educationally and socially. There are active and effective Parish-Community links through St. Andrew’s Parish Church in Craigshill. There are also strong links with St. Margaret’s Academy and the cluster primary schools. Howden St. Andrew’s has an active Parent Council and works closely with partner agencies to meet the needs of the whole school community.
We are seeking an enthusiastic practitioner to join the team in the nursery which is open 50 weeks per year and staff working on a rota across the opening hours.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and / or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
