Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and production activities.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to create innovative menu items.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
  • Excellent cooking skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively in a busy kitchen setting.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a desire to help develop new dishes.
