Our Control Services division specialises in delivering turnkey solutions for electrical control systems, including control panels for data centres and other critical industries. As we grow, we are looking for a Workshop Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our workshop.
As the Workshop Manager, you will manage and coordinate the build production between the workshop and design team. You will ensure inventory is managed effectively and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers. You will be responsible for purchasing stock, coordinating internal sales, and providing regular reports and management information to ensure optimal performance of the workshop. This role requires, operational oversight, and an understanding of control panel production processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Production Coordination and Management : Providing direction, support, and ensuring efficient workflow, coordinating the build production and managing the end of build handover.
- Inventory and Stock Management : Oversee inventory control, including purchasing stock and maintaining sufficient levels of materials for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Supplier and Customer Relationships : Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and ensuring timely delivery of components. Act as the point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met.
- Internal Sales : Coordinate internal sales, ensuring all orders are fulfilled efficiently and in line with customer requirements.
- Reporting and Management Information : Produce regular reports and management information on production performance, stock levels, and project timelines, keeping leadership informed.
- Process Improvement : Continuously look for opportunities to increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Health and Safety : Ensure that all workshop activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience in Workshop management preferably within the electrical control panel or manufacturing industry.Strong people skills, with the ability to motivate a team.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in managing inventory and coordinating projects.Experience managing supplier and customer relationships.Strong communication and reporting skills, with proficiency in producing management information.Knowledge of control panel production, PLC systems, and electrical.Proficiency in relevant software for inventory management and reporting.A full UK driving licence.Benefits
