Graduate Cover Supervisor - Ideal for Future Teachers

Location : The Stoke and Staffordshire area

Contract Type : Full-time / Part-time

Role Overview :

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in the classroom before pursuing a career in teaching? Teaching Personnel is seeking ambitious and enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors across a variety of school settings, including mainstream primary and secondary schools, as well as Special Educational Needs (SEN) provisions. This is a fantastic opportunity for those considering a future in education, providing valuable classroom management skills, exposure to different learning environments, and insight into the teaching profession.

This role is ideal for individuals with transferable skills from coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or customer-facing roles who are eager to develop their experience in education.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across various subjects and year groups.
  • Gain experience in mainstream primary, secondary, and SEN settings.
  • Support students with additional needs and create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop essential classroom management and leadership skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and school staff to enhance the learning experience.

Ideal Candidate :

  • A recent graduate (any subject) with a keen interest in education.
  • Confident, adaptable, and able to engage with students of different ages and abilities.
  • Open to working in diverse school environments, including SEN provisions.
  • Individuals with transferable skills from coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or customer service roles.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
