Do you have experience working in the domestic abuse field to implement change and ensure best practice? As a Senior IDVA Advisor, you will be working closely with the Vulnerabilities Manager to facilitate the transition from one provider to another for the IDVA Service. You will gain experience in contract mobilization and management and be unafraid of challenging partners with the service user’s voice at the heart of your work, ensuring the best outcome for them. Your support will be crucial in service transition and delivery, risk mitigation, lead investigations into any safeguarding concerns, where appropriate taking over management of such cases to ensure best practice.

About the role

Richmond and Wandsworth are in the process of recommissioning their IDVA Service, and there will be a transitional phase where the Council must ensure that service users’ experience of the service is not impacted. You will be responsible for holding the providers to account, ensuring best practice and preventing safeguarding issues from arising.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills and understanding of contract management. You will report directly into the Vulnerabilities Manager and will work closely to ensure appropriate escalation of any issues and oversee contract delivery and mobilisation when the new provider takes over. When the new provider is in place the Senior IDVA Advisor will have the exciting opportunity to ensure this service gets off to the best start possible, creating the necessary networks to deliver the contract.

Where necessary, this role will hold or oversee cases if there are concerns that the service user could be high risk or impacted by the service provider change.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of domestic abuse and how to respond and safeguard in line with national recommended standards (SafeLives).
  • Understanding of the role Local Authorities have in responding to domestic abuse.
  • GDPR and handling of sensitive information.
  • Safeguarding experience in the context of domestic abuse.
  • Working in partnership with stakeholders both inside and outside of the local authority with positive outcomes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Organisation and time management, ability to prioritise own workload with competing and fast changing demands.
