Job description

Temp to Permanent opportunity.Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs? We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with complex needs in a dynamic and supportive school environment.Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with complex learning, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and care plans tailored to each student.
  • Use a range of strategies and resources, including visual aids, sensory tools, and communication aids, to support learning.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and parents to provide holistic support for students.
  • Support personal care tasks, promoting independence where possible.
  • Manage challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SEN staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.What We’re Looking For :
  • Right to work in the UK (essential).
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people with complex needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or physical disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of SEN-specific strategies and tools (e.g., Makaton, PECs, sensory integration).
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, independence, and well-being.Desirable Skills & Qualifications :
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Training or experience in Team Teach, Manual Handling, or other relevant SEN certifications.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and communication aids.What We Offer :
