We are passionate about Doncaster - it’s a great place to live, do business and visit.

We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it.  But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.

Doncaster Council is an ambitious Mayoral authority with a clear purpose to ensure Doncaster and its people thrive. We are transforming as a Council and are also collaborating as part of Team Doncaster with partnership organisations, volunteers, businesses and residents working together to take pride in our borough.

A brilliant opportunity has arisen to join our leadership team as our Registered Manager for STEPS (Short Term Enablement Programme service), supporting people to gain or regain the skills and confidence to live well at home.

There has never been a more exciting time to work in this area of Social Care as we continue to transform and develop our support for the benefit of local people.

You will work closely with Doncaster people with lived experience of seeking and drawing on support and colleagues from the care and support workforce to manage delivery and help develop the future of our STEPs service, tangibly benefitting the lives of local people.

A strength-based approach and a commitment to wellbeing will come naturally to you. You’ll have the skills to turn your values into action. You will understand and role model the behaviours to lead. Promoting wellbeing and independence is at the heart of our Home First Services, ensuring people are supported to achieve their goals and ambitions. Above all you’ll promote the human rights of the people we are here to serve. In doing so you’ll support the Adults, Wellbeing and Culture directorate to make best use of our resources and support high quality care and support in Doncaster.

You’ll get plenty of support as part of a friendly Council with a dynamic can-do culture. If you have the skills, determination and commitment to make a real difference and want an exciting job to influence and promote independence for all members or our communities, we want to hear from you.
