Salary : £24,000 - £25,000 per annum (Temp rate starting £12.00 per hour)

Location : Boxworth, Cambridge

Type : Temporary to Permanent Position

Our client is based on the outskirts of Cambridge near Bar Hill. They specialize in the collection of Scientific research to deliver high quality professional services and add value to clients' businesses by providing them with sustainable solutions. You must be able to drive due to the location.

This is very much a stand-alone job where they would be reporting to Senior Business Administrator Day to day. With a dotted line to the MD. Whilst temping for the business you would be in the office full time. However, after a period of say 3 months should you grasp the training then the option to work Hybrid (2 days in the office) would definitely be open to you.

No formal accounting qualifications are necessary. You just need some basic financial acumen (nothing formal) just invoicing and dealing with purchase order numbers. There is a large part of social media involved.

  • Provide a wide and varied range of financial, business development and administration support to the Project Managers and Consultants of Cambridge and Environmental Assessments (CEA)
  • Provide support to business development and marketing activities including the updating and maintenance of the CEA website and posting articles on social media channels .
  • Assist Project Managers to maintain accurate project data including processing project data amendments and providing general project administration support.
  • Assist Project Managers to register new tenders and projects and provide quality control of the documentation.
  • Raising and issuing sales invoices to clients, including complex multi-currency projects and chasing up Project Managers on overdue and due invoices prior to the monthly deadline
  • Process purchase requests, including the creation of purchase order numbers and liaison with central finance departments to ensure payment of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide financial support to Project Managers by collating and presenting bespoke project data / reports
  • To manage and maintain the CEA sales pipeline and participate in the weekly sales call, preparing the weekly sales report and completing the actions.
  • To act as the GLP Archivist to ensure secure and orderly retention of records in line with the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Other duties as requested by managers appropriate to the post include providing general administrative and secretarial support, including but not limited to formatting of reports, and health and safety reporting.
  • To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, you may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within your level of capability without additional remuneration.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Knowledge and experience of, and confidence in, working with business management information systems.
  • To have good data accuracy and attention to detail with a good level of numeracy and IT skills
  • High-level keyboard and computing skills using MS Word, Excel and Access
  • To be well organised and efficient with confident and professional communication skills
  • To work flexibly as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and capable of working without supervision.
  • Capable of working under pressure and prioritising workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous internal sales support, purchasing / project administration experience would be desirable.
