Job description

Mobile Care Assistant - Town and Country - Whitby

  • Salary : From £11.45 per hour (weekdays) to £12.05 (weekends)
  • Contract : Permanent
  • Hours : Full Time or Part Time (Between 20-40 hours per week) Alternate weekends
  • Driver Essential

Town and Country Care (Whitby) Ltd is looking for a Care Assistant to join our team of 50 local carers.

The role is based in Whitby, North Yorkshire and involved visiting elderly and vulnerable clients in their own homes. We operate in small teams and each team has access to a company vehicle for long distance visits. The shift pattern involves working every other weekend.

The local, family-run company has been operating for 16 years now and supports almost 100 local clients, making it the largest and longest established Home Care provider in the Whitby area. We always look for caring and friendly candidates to join our team, no past experience is required as all training is provided.

We also own a small Dementia and Residential Care Facility, Shetland House, which currently has 9 beds, available for short-term and permanent stays.

Duties include :

  • Personal Care
  • Medication Assistance
  • Meal Preparation
  • Household Tasks
  • Social Support

    • Job incentives :

  • Higher rates of pay for NVQ trained staff
  • Overtime premium for covering holidays and absence.
  • Set minimum hours per shift to compensate for cancellations, hospitalisations or gaps.
  • 2 monthly £25 attendance bonus for 100% attendance
  • Monthly £10 data payments for mobile phone usage
  • Staff room with free refreshments

  • Car and fuel expenses covered
  • All training provided, including care certificate and NVQ opportunities
  • Free uniform and PPE plus all training and shadowing work is paid at normal rate.

    • Basic rates for a nyone under 21 starts on £11.00 weekday, and £11.60 on weekends.

    Ages 21+ £11.45 weekday and £12.05 weekends.

    These rates are then increased for NVQ trained staff, plus £1.50 extra for any overtime, this is also increased for each years' service.
