Job summary

We lead the UK�s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. We employ around 17,000 staff in our global network of 281 offices worldwide.

Our UK-based staff work in King Charles Street in London, Abercrombie House in East Kilbride and in Milton Keynes.

The successful candidate will extract, analyse and present data in a clear and concise manner, presenting the data in the format to suit the audience. Frequent engagement with internal stakeholders including senior management, Finance Directorate & Human Resources Directorate (HR), as well as stakeholders across all other areas of the business will be required.

In addition, the team is responsible for reporting data to the Cabinet Office, the Office for National Statistics and the National Audit Office, as well as publishing data on The successful candidate is responsible for overseeing all reporting to these external parties, ensuring reports are accurate and correct and submitted on time.

The successful candidate will seek opportunities to develop Management Information (MI) understanding and capability within the organisation by using skills and expertise to assist others within HR and the wider office, such as support HR projects or assist with the development of reporting.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will :

  • Lead the timely, accurate and appropriately handled compilation of MI data in response to internal and external enquiries. Liaise across the FCDO family to coordinate data collection and reporting.
  • Line manage, and support, two HEO Management Information Analysts
  • Lead the co-ordination of regular external reporting to the Office for National Statistics, Cabinet Office and other government departments.
  • Lead on the delivery of the data elements for Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Parliamentary Questions (PQs) that have HR data dependencies; Assessing the request information requirements, collating relevant data, reviewing the information and developing necessary supporting lines, drafting the reply and obtaining clearance as necessary.
  • Lead the further development of HR Reports extracted from the FCDO HR Platform to support ongoing optimisation and improvement to the delivery of core HR MI. Engage with Senior MI Analysts, Report Developers and key stakeholders from Other Government Departments to support the maintenance, development and change processes associated with continual improvement to the HR MI reports portfolio
  • Lead on the provision of accurate and intuitive insights into people-related issues, designing bespoke analysis on demand.

Person specification

You must be a British Citizen at the time of application and, if invited to interview, you will need to bring proof of identity (British Passport / Driving Licence etc.) with you .

This role requires you to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

For more information about this process, . Attaining DV will require you to have been resident in the UK for five of the last ten years. At least one year of this must have been a consecutive twelve-month period. Serving overseas with HM Forces, in some other official capacity as a representative of His Majesty�s Government, or having lived overseas as a result of your parents� or partner�s Government employment counts as UK residency for the purposes of security clearances.
