About the Company

Our client, a well-respected company in the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure sector, is renowned for delivering innovative and high-quality projects across the North East. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team, ensuring the financial and contractual success of their projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Oversee the measurement and valuation of works, including subcontractor valuations.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement and financial reporting.
  • Provide support to the site and project teams on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Assist in preparing tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly NEC and JCT forms.
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Excel and industry-specific tools.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Membership of a professional body, such as RICS or CIOB, is advantageous.
