Are you an organised, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a vibrant, caring environment? We are seeking an Admin Assistant to join a dedicated team in a Special School in Braintree. This is a temporary to permanent position offering both full-time and part-time opportunities, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

In this role, you’ll become an essential part of the school community, ensuring efficient administrative operations that support the wider team in delivering exceptional care and education. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and parents, bringing warmth and professionalism to the school’s front office. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective clerical and welfare support to the Principal, teachers, and school community.
  • Manage administrative and financial duties, ensuring school needs are met.
  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, maintaining a welcoming and professional front of house.
  • Support the school’s ethos of valuing individuals and fostering personal responsibility.
  • Maintain and update school records, files, and documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling, communications, and other essential administrative tasks.
  • Ensure efficient operations and public relations for the school.
  • Collaborate with staff to contribute to the school’s nurturing and inclusive environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in office software, including spreadsheets and email.
  • A friendly and professional approach to front-of-house duties.
  • A positive, proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
