Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Physical Education teacher seeking a new challenge in a supportive and high-achieving school in Stafford? We are looking for an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a thriving department starting in September 2025. This full-time, permanent position comes with a TLR, offering opportunities for leadership and career progression.

About the Physical Education Department :

The PE department is passionate and dedicated to fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development. It has a strong history of success at both GCSE and A-Level and provides opportunities for students to engage in a variety of sports, from traditional team sports to more niche activities. The department prides itself on encouraging students to develop skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of physical activity.

Responsibilities :

  • Teach Physical Education to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students, ensuring a challenging and engaging curriculum.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide pastoral care as a form tutor, supporting students’ personal development and well-being.
  • Participate in extracurricular sports activities and support school teams in competitions.
  • Contribute to the development of the PE department's curriculum and teaching materials.
  • Lead initiatives within the department, as part of your TLR responsibilities.
  • Encourage and foster a culture of healthy living and sportsmanship across the school.
  • Experience and Qualifications :

  • Degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Physical Education to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students.
  • TLR experience or leadership potential is highly desirable.
  • A passion for sports and physical activity, with the ability to inspire students.
  • ECTs are welcome to apply.
  • Salary :

    The salary for this Physical Education Teacher position will be paid to scale MPS / UPS, with an additional TLR based on experience.
