Head of Financial Accounting

Robert Half is partnering with a leading East Midlands business to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting.

This is a high-profile opportunity within a successful, growing organisation known for its commercial strength and professional development culture. The business operates in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and is looking for a technically strong finance leader to oversee group financial reporting and ensure continued rigour across financial controls and compliance.

Responsibilities :

Lead the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of statutory accounts and financial statements across the group

Own the month-end and year-end reporting processes, driving improvements in quality and efficiency

Manage the external audit process and act as key point of contact with external auditors

Provide technical accounting guidance in line with IFRS and UK GAAP, advising on complex accounting matters

Maintain and improve internal financial controls, policies and procedures

Support the CFO and wider finance leadership team on transformation projects and business initiatives

Lead, mentor and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants

What we are looking for :

ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong post-qualified experience

Background in audit or technical accounting, ideally with a top-tier firm and subsequent experience in industry

Proven experience managing statutory accounts and external audit processes for complex, multi-entity organisations

Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a hands-on, proactive approach

Ability to operate in a dynamic, change-focused environment with tight deadlines
