Job Duties : Job Overview :

We require the individual for the position to have patterning, sewing and trimming capabilities.

The R&D Engineer will develop / trim covers for various seats with patterning and build projects within the auto-manufacturing industry for both Commercial and Defence sectors. There are several programme's starting from scratch which will allow the Engineer to work with the design team to use their imagination to produce the desired effect to the customer for sign off.

The R&D Engineer will have sewing experience and be used to working with leather, PVC, textiles, foams etc. and have an R & D background.

The R&D Engineer should have; the ability to communicate with company personnel, literacy and numeracy competency, a basic understanding of technical drawings, strong time management skills, and an understanding that the quality of their work represents the company as a whole.

Responsibilities :

• Develop, sew and trim seats to drawing specifications.
• Ability to use tools; air, electric and manual to a high standard.
• Maintain work area to 5S.
• Responsible for quality control of own work.
• Take responsibility for tools and equipment issued.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately.
• Follow instruction regarding Development Schedule.
• Maintain a positive and friendly company image to all customers, suppliers and staff.
• Follow company quality guidelines, raising any concerns to management.
• Comply at all times with company procedures, including Health and Safety policy and ISO accreditation.
• May be required to drive company vehicle.
• Other duties, as required, by the business.

Hours & Shifts :

Monday to Thursday : - 08.00am - 5.00pm

Friday : - 08.00am - 1.30pm
