Purpose of the Role :

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to manage the routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of various equipment within our Coventry Test Facilities.

Key Responsibilities :

Routine Maintenance & Servicing : Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks as outlined in the existing plan, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.

Fault Diagnosis & Repairs : Perform troubleshooting and non-routine repairs in the event of breakdowns, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational continuity.

Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams, external service providers, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of maintenance tasks, whether in-house or outsourced.

Continuous Improvement : Support facility upgrade initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.

Administrative Compliance : Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports to meet legal and audit compliance standards. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.

Specific Duties :

Teamwork : Operate independently to manage your workload and priorities while collaborating with the Test Facilities Manager and other team members.

Supplier Coordination : Select and liaise with suppliers, raising purchase orders (POs) for parts and services as required.

Planning : Manage short-term workload to meet daily targets and contribute to medium-term planning for larger projects, including upgrades and improvements.

Decision-Making : Make day-to-day decisions on workload management and priorities.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Education / Experience : Time-served apprenticeship with a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

Technical Skills : Proficient in general maintenance and routine servicing.

Strong mechanical fitting skills, including equipment / system assembly.

Workshop capabilities (e.g., machining, welding, fabrication).

Basic understanding of electrical systems, enabling safe working and fault diagnosis.
