We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison. Free parking and very welcoming team!

Working in a friendly and supportive team of 6, lots of training and development available dependant on what you are keen to continue developing in and free parking on site.

Hours

36 hours a week - Working three days a week, 13 hour shift each, 9am-10pm, with 1 hour break. No weekends or nights.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £52507 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

    What you'll be doing

    As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

    Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients’ mental health needs.

    Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.

    Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.

    Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.

    Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.

    Qualifications

    Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Nurse - HCPC / NMC Registered

    Experience of working within mental health settings, developing knowledge and understanding of this patient group

    Assess patients to a high standard and risk assessment

    Evidence of Continued Professional Development

    Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment

    Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
