Axcis are recruiting for an experienced teaching assistant to support children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. This role is based in Scarisbrick, in a satellite provision for a specialist school. This would be a full time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm. This role is due to begin in September 2024 until Christmas initially, though is likely to be extended. There's a high chance of a permanent position for the right candidate. The role is based in a newly created satellite provision in Scarisbrick. The provision is linked to a specialist school in Skelmersdale that caters to pupils with a range of PMLD aged 3-11. There are a range of SEND needs on site, including PMLD, ASD, ADHD, complex and mobility needs. Previous experience with manual handling and PECs would be beneficial. The role would suit someone coming from a care background due to the needs of the children. Personal care will be required as part of this role. The school was rated as 'outstanding' in it's most recent OFSTED inspection, and there is a supportive team of teaching assistants to help new starters settle in.
