Job description

Description

Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEH&S) Manager

12 months Fixed Term Contract

Location – Baileys Mallusk

Based – On-site 5 days a week

Closing Date – 18th July

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEH&S) professional to join our team at the historic and world-famous Bailey's site in Mallusk (Newtownabby) or Belfast. As the world's number-one-selling liqueur brand, the importance of the work we do here is hard to understate. Our indulgent blend of aged Irish whiskey and luscious dairy cream, with hints of cocoa and vanilla, is loved the world over and sold in over a hundred and sixty countries. Our dedicated, experienced, and skilled team produces and bottles 8.9 million cases annually.

Just over a year ago, Baileys became the largest global spirits brand to join the B Corp movement - this means that we have become one of only six-thousand certified businesses worldwide to build a more inclusive, regenerative, equitable economy for people and planet. Something we are proud of.

About the Role

This is a brilliant opportunity for an expert QEH&S Manager to come and craft the future at our Baileys production site. The purpose of the role is to protect people, brands, and reputation and to play a leading role in Bailey’s contribution to the delivery of Diageo’s Society 2030 ambitions - including supporting the global sustainability and environmental agenda among other vital goals.

Some of the Key Accountabilities are :

  • Strategy – Crafting and implementing a site-wide plan for the QEH&S vision
  • Compliance –Good working knowledge of ISO accreditations (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001), IPPC License & other relevant QEH&S legislation
  • Culture – Instilling an intrinsic link between QEH&S and the day-to-day activities across the site and team
  • People Management – Directly mentor the QEH&S coordinator, and by influencing effectively, work through others
  • Collaboration – Engagement with the Diageo Global QEH&S community, sharing learning and best practice – staying ahead of the curve

About You

To be successful in this role you will have significant operational Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety leadership experience and a track record in a world-class FMCG production / manufacturing environment.

  • QEH&S experience within a process manufacturing environment
  • Happy to flex between independent reliance and wider team working
  • Strong influencer – able to work through others, not within your direct report group
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Strong interpersonal communicator, across internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Working with Us

Join us and you can also expect a highly competitive and flexible rewards and benefits package including :

  • Contemporary work life balance policies and wellbeing activities
  • Healthcare allowance
  • Product allowance
  • Contributary pension scheme
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Share options
  • Our purpose is to celebrate life, every day, everywhere. And crafting an inclusive culture, where everyone feels valued and listened to, is a crucial part of this. We believe the most inclusive and diverse culture makes for a better business and a better world. We know that for our business to thrive and for Diageo to realize its ambition, we depend on having diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in each of the 180 countries in which we operate and to reflect our broad consumer base.

Join us, and you'll be part of an organisation that embraces diversity in the broadest possible sense. This means that you'll be welcomed and celebrated for who you are just by being you. You'll be part of — and help build — an inclusive culture that celebrates people of different gender, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation, social class, educational backgrounds, experiences, mindsets, and more. And you'll help us champion inclusion and diversity across our entire business : with our employees, our suppliers, across our brands, and within the communities in which we operate.

    About Us

With over 200 brands sold in more than 180 countries, we’re the world’s leading premium drinks company. Join us, and you’ll be celebrated for your work and empowered to be you. Together with people around the world, you’ll innovate and push boundaries, shaping a tomorrow worth celebrating.
