Job description Position : Translation Proofreader (French speaking preferred) Company : Intonation Location : Remote (with option to transition to office-based) Summary : Intonation is seeking a detail-oriented Translation Proofreader (preferably French speaking). This role offers a fantastic opportunity to break into the translation industry, providing the chance to build contacts and gain insider knowledge of a translation company's practices. Success in this role means delivering high-quality, accurate translations and maintaining effective communication with both translators and clients. Responsibilities : Proofreading : Primarily English / French and with other language combinations possible, with a focus on technical translations including patents. Quality assurance : Conduct QA checks for translations in various languages. Liaison : Serve as a point of contact for translators and occasionally for clients. Translation & Project management : Provide translation and project management support as needed. Qualifications and skills requirements : Language skills : Proficiency in French is essential (mother tongue preferred, but a degree in Modern Languages or equivalent is acceptable). Education : MA or BA in Modern Languages or a related field is preferred. Attention to detail : A keen eye for detail is crucial. Additional skills (advantageous) : Proficiency in other languages.
