Job descriptionSupervise and manage the activities of team leaders and production operatives under your direction. Organise and control work within departments / sections according to the production plan and priorities set by the General Manager. Ensure timely completion of work within allocated time and customer requirements. Control and manage Indirect Hours. Safely and effectively use and store materials within your department. Set and monitor target hours for jobs within your team's department. Maintain and repair plant, equipment, and tools in collaboration with the Maintenance department and General / Production Manager. Monitor attendance and absence. Resolve conflicts within your team and assist other senior supervisors in resolving disputes in their teams. Enforce discipline within departments / sections using company policies and processes as needed. Ensure proper induction of new / transferred employees in accordance with company procedures, including safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) guidance and precautions. Provide training for production operatives in tasks within the department using the company's training process. Conduct formal disciplinary reviews, return to work interviews, and minor disciplinary hearings. Identify training needs with the General Manager and HR Department. Monitor, enforce, and ensure compliance with all aspects of safety, environmental, and quality standards, while promoting high levels of adherence and compliance. Maintain cleanliness and safety of your team's work areas and report any issues outside of your control to the General Manager. Ensure all subcontractors comply with the company's SHEQ requirements while on-site. Investigate and resolve accidents and near-misses in collaboration with the General Manager / Production Manager. Ensure proper training and understanding of risk assessments and standard operating procedures for all team members. Create risk assessments and SOPs as needed.
