Empower Learners with Complex Needs
Teaching Personnel is recruiting an energetic, creative SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 3‑19 in a purpose‑built special school in the Vale of Glamorgan. You will craft multi‑sensory, differentiated lessons that enable young people with Autism, SEMH, PMLD and SLD to achieve academically, socially and emotionally.
Your Impact
Teach Small Classes (8‑10 pupils) – plan engaging lessons that meet EHCP targets while covering the National Curriculum.
Differentiate & Innovate – use visual, auditory and tactile resources so every learner can access content in their preferred way.
Work as a Team – liaise with LSAs, therapists, parents and outside agencies to review progress and refine individual learning plans.
Promote Positive Behaviour – implement restorative, person‑centred strategies that build confidence and independence.
Enrich School Life – contribute to themed days, educational visits and community projects that broaden pupils’ horizons.
What You’ll Need
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
Genuine passion for Special Educational Needs; mainstream or specialist teaching experience welcomed.
Strong differentiation skills and creativity to deliver multi‑sensory, learner‑led lessons.
Excellent communication, resilience and teamwork.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain) and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration.
Desirable Extras
Prior experience in an SEN, PRU or specialist setting.
Training in PECS, Makaton, Team‑Teach, TEACCH or similar.
Knowledge of Autism‑friendly environments and sensory‑integration approaches.
