Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to inspire and support pupils in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Sunderlannd. The role is to start either ASAP or from September 2024, depending on the availability of the successful candidate.
The role will involve working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.
The role is full-time and for the full 2024 / 2025 Academic Year. The School has opportunities across EYFS-KS2, depending on the preference and specialism of the successful candidate. The role will involve supporting the pupils with their learning and communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used that are suited to the individual needs and learning styles of the pupils to allow them to engage with their learning and make excellent progress.

This role will involve :
- Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on both a 1 : 1 basis and in small groups.
- Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
- Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss / implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
- Preparing resources for lessons.
- Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
- Having a “hands on” approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with pupils.
