King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists, we provide a deep and thorough academic curriculum and help our students to develop excellent independent study skills. Just as important is our broader development curriculum, with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities operating on a weekly basis, and excellent preparation for careers and HE. We require a full-time personal tutor to work as part of our student support team, to start as soon as possible.

The Student Support team offers extensive support and guidance, ensuring that our students thrive and can reach their full potential, whilst preparing them for the next stage of their lives.

The role of the Personal Tutor (PT) is fundamental to the College’s pastoral system, which is central to the support we offer our students. PTs will monitor the academic and personal development, attendance and behaviour of all their tutees. PTs will support students in their progress towards their academic and personal targets as well as contributing to the development of wider competencies through the tutorial programme.

This is a permanent, full-time, term-time only post with up to 10 extra contractual days (which will be paid separately), subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 11 - 15 which is £22,065.56 – £24,812.66 per annum for term-time only, based on 37 hours per week.
