Job Title : Quantity Surveyor Location : Devonport, Plymouth Contract Type : Permanent / Contract (specify based on need) Working Hours : Full-time, 5 days on site Salary : 322 p / dAbout the Role : We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a high-profile infrastructure project in Devonport. The role involves full-time, on-site presence (5 days per week) and supports the commercial management of civil engineering works within a secure and highly regulated environment.Key Responsibilities : Oversee the commercial performance of the project from start to finish.Prepare accurate cost estimates, tender documentation, and budgets.Manage procurement of subcontractor and supplier packages.Monitor project expenditure, handle valuations, variations, and interim payments.Negotiate contracts and manage contractual relationships.Ensure adherence to NEC3 / NEC4 / JCT contract requirements.Support forecasting, cash flow, and change control processes.Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to align on project delivery.Requirements : Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience.Experience on civil engineering, infrastructure, or defence projects.Sound understanding of NEC and / or JCT forms of contract.Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Proficient in Excel and commercial systems (e.g., CEMAR, CostX).Must be willing and able to be on site in Devonport 5 days a week.Eligible for (or holds) security clearance, depending on project requirements.Desirable : Chartered (or working towards) status with RICS / CIOB.Previous experience working on MOD or high-security infrastructure projects
