Court Usher - South Tyneside Law Court
Location : Millbank / Secretan Way, South Shields NE33 1RG
Hours : Monday to Friday, 9 : 00am - 5 : 00pm (37 hours per week)
Pay : £12.21 per hour (paid weekly)
Contract : Immediate start - temporary until 31 / 12 / 2025, with the possibility of extension
Clearance : The successful candidate must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
About the Role
Brook Street is currently recruiting on behalf of a large public sector organisation within the Legal Sector. We are seeking a reliable and professional Court Usher to support the operations at South Tyneside Law Court.
As a Court Usher, you will play a key role in ensuring that court proceedings run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers a valuable opportunity to work in a high-profile, fast-paced environment within the justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting court clerks and accurately preparing court log reports
- Escorting and supervising vulnerable adults and children attending hearings
- Taking initiative to complete post-hearing tasks without direct instruction
- Liaising with legal advisors, judiciary, and members of the public
- Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate records
- Performing general administrative duties as required
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate :
A current transferable DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
