Your new company Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Runcorn-based single-form entry primary school as they are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated SEN teaching assistant to support pupils across the school on a 1 : 1 basis. This is a long-term full-time temporary position consisting of 1 : 1 support for pupils in the reception, year 3, year 3, year 4, year 5 and year 6 classes on a timetabled basis with hours consisting of 8 : 30am - 3 : 30pm.Your new role As a teaching assistant within this school, you will offer 1 : 1 support to pupils with SEN across the school. As you will be supporting a number of different pupils, you will need to take a pupil-centred approach to their learning so as to ensure that their individual needs are at the heart of all operations. You will be supporting a variety of SEN with needs consisting of SEMH, emotional regulation, ASD and communication needs. You will implement positive behaviour strategies (sensory play, brain breaks and regulation), complete speech and language interventions, phonics assessments and integration into new pupil groups.
