Protocol Education are looking to recruit a SENCO and Head of Curriculum, working for an Independent secondary alternative provider and day special school.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for devising and implementing the school’s approach to curriculum design and delivery, including opportunities for practical learning in all subject areas, ensuring all lessons are engaging, exciting, and stretch students to achieve their full potential.
The role-
- Working with the Executive Headteacher to develop the school's Curriculum Policy and Plan
- Develop the schools' SEN and access Policies
- Developing and maintaining the school's SEN action plans
- Working with Assessment lead, measuring achievement and evaluating the experiences of pupils with SEN
- Work with all teaching and support staff to ensure they are consistently applying the school behaviour policy, both individually and as a single team
- Lead and support all teaching staff with developing teaching and behaviour strategies and / or interventions to ensure children fully access their education, regardless of any barriers to learning.
- Ensuring appropriate differentiation in the classroom and leading on the quality and content of all teaching, across all subjects.
- Leading on EHCP applications and reviews.
- Establishing Individual Learning Plans for all learners and ensuring teaching and support staff are following them.
- Ensuring appropriate initial diagnostics and assessments are completed to establish the starting point for all learners, helps track progress and allows for exam 'access arrangements' to be applied for, where required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
