Managing Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks & Civil Engineering Salary : Up to £90,000 plus £6,000 car allowance Location : Reigate Company Overview My client is a well-established subcontractor specialising in groundworks and civil engineering, delivering projects of up to £10 million across London and the surrounding areas. With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for high-quality delivery, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs and contracts related to projects from inception through to completion. The role involves driving value for money, maintaining quality standards, and supporting all aspects of commercial and contractual management. Key Responsibilities
- Cost planning and commercial management throughout the full project lifecycle
- Value engineering and risk analysis
- Procurement support and tender evaluations
- Agreement of contract sums and tender submissions
- Contract administration and commercial reporting
- Interim valuations and payment assessments
- Management of design variations and cost substantiation
- Preparation of PQQ documentation in line with company standards
- Assistance with dispute resolution where necessary
- Ongoing support and guidance on commercial matters across the business Candidate Requirements
- Must have experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role, ideally within groundworks or civil engineering
- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge of standard forms of contract and measurement methods
- NEC3 contract experience is essential, including early warnings and compensation event procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
