What you'll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join our stellar editorial non-fiction team. Working across all of Hodder Non-Fiction, you’ll be responsible for providing administrative and editorial support to colleagues in imprints including Hodder Non-Fiction, Hodder Catalyst, Hodder Press and Yellow Kite.
Working closely with the commissioning editors and managing editor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day editorial admin for the Non-Fiction team such as :

Helping to ensure the metadata for our books is complete according to our critical path (and checking how our books appear on retailer websites)
Proofreading copy for covers and retailer websites
Liaising with authors and agents
Writing meeting minutes and agendas
Arranging meetings (in person and online)
Ordering author and agent copies of books
Assisting with bound proof mail outs
Managing our team Twitter accounts
Helping submit our books for relevant prizes
Assisting with writing creative copy for our books
Clearing permissions for illustrations and photographs
Preparing paperbacks for production, liaising with editorial, design and production colleagues
Checking eBooks and writing alt text descriptions for images in eBooks.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a highly organised and confident team player with meticulous attention to detail and a can-do attitude. As you will be working across a very wide range of non-fiction titles and across different imprints, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to manage your time effectively, prioritise and work well under pressure, and to work well as part of a large team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in a wide range of non-fiction books. Some experience of working in the publishing industry would be an advantage. A competent knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and knowledge of Biblio is a bonus.

This role can be based at our London or Bristol office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
