Job description

My client is a small business that specialise in the design, build, commissioning and installation of manufacturing automation systems. They supply to the UK and globally. Due to ongoing success, they are looking for an Electrical Engineer. The role is a mixture of hands on installation / building and office based design work. The candidate must have electrical qualifications and have a strong understanding of electrical theory. You must also be based within commutable distance of Leicester.

Electrical Engineer Position Overview

Producing electrical and electronic designs
Using AutoCAD 3D software
Carrying out site surveys to assess product viability
Pre-commissioning of manufacturing equipment before being delivered to site
Installation of equipment and product handover
Panel wiring and cabinet building
Travelling to client sites throughout the UK and abroad
Fault finding if any issues should arise
Receiving product training specific to the company's manufacturing automation systems
Working within a small team

Electrical Engineer Position Requirements

Electrical / electronic qualifications at least to HNC level

Electrical engineering experience. This should include design and panel building

A strong understanding of electrical theory

18th Edition preferable

Any vision inspection system experience is desirable

This is an office based role, however around once a month you will be required to be away for between 1-2 weeks. This will include both international and UK travel.

Excellent communicator

Driving licence

Based within commutable distance of Leicester

Electrical Engineer Position Remuneration

Salary £30,000 - £40,000. Having panel building as well as circuit design experience will attract the higher end of the salary

25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Additional allowance for travel abroad. Extra allowance if you are having to stay away for more than 6 days

Company product specific training

Hours Monday - Friday 37.5 hours

Flexible start time between 08 : 30 - 09 : 30
