We are seeking a highly motivated MR Physicist to join the Magnetic Resonance and Precision Imaging (MR&PI) theme of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) which is led by Professor Dorothee Auer. The MR&PI theme comprises a collaborative team drawn from MR Physicists, Clinical Academics and Imaging Scientists of the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre (SPMIC), Clinical Scientists of the Nottingham University Hospital Trust (NUHT), and partners in the School of Computer Science.

This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher with a relevant PhD and postdoctoral experience to develop Magnetic Resonance (MR) Physics projects that address the objectives and proposals within the MR&PI theme. The successful candidate will apply and develop new appropriate MR acquisition protocols and analysis methods in the brain and body. You will be expected to become a lynchpin between discovery and clinical MRI research to strengthen the collaboration with the NUHT and the wider Clinical Research Network, and work with other regional and national NHS imaging sites, to help create clinical added value from our discovery pipelines for national imaging studies.

You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend your research portfolio. This is a fixed term contract available for 3 years. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
