Job Title : Residential Care Home Manager

Location : Morpeth, Northumberland

Salary : £55,000 - £58,000 per annum

Overview :

Located in a lovely neighbourhood in Morpeth, our care home is set in a peaceful area with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. The home consists of 60 bedrooms, providing both personal and nursing care across two floors with three dedicated units : Millview, Wansbeck, and Bluebell. In partnership with Northumbria Healthcare, we also offer an Intermediate Care Unit, which provides 24-hour qualified nursing and specialist therapy in a safe and supportive environment. Our residents benefit from the serenity of our home, including a lovely patio area to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Residential Care Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our care home, ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. The role will also involve leading a dedicated team of staff while managing the operational, financial, and regulatory aspects of the home.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead, manage, and support the care team to provide excellent personal and nursing care to all residents, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and well-being.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage staffing levels, including recruitment, training, and performance management, ensuring the home is adequately staffed at all times.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality care plans and conduct regular assessments to ensure the needs of residents are met.
  • Ensure that the care home’s financial operations are well managed, including budget management and cost control.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, their families, and external professionals to ensure high levels of satisfaction and continuous improvements in care.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and lead the home through any inspections, audits, or quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain effective communication within the team, keeping staff motivated and informed of developments.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive working environment, promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and empathy.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of residents, adhering to all health and safety guidelines and promoting a high standard of hygiene throughout the home.

Key Requirements :

  • Proven experience as a Residential Care Home Manager or in a similar management role within the care sector.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, health and safety standards, and the care industry.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Experience in budget management and maintaining financial controls within a care environment.
  • A genuine passion for providing person-centred care and ensuring the well-being of elderly residents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • A valid NMC Pin (for Nursing Managers) is desirable but not essential.
  • What We Offer :

  • Competitive salary of £55,000 - £58,000 per annum.
  • Opportunity to work in a well-established and supportive team environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • A beautiful, peaceful location with great transport links to the local area and beyond.
  • A rewarding role that makes a positive impact on the lives of residents and their families.
  • Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

    Pay : £55,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
