Dynamic Deputy SENCo – Secondary School in Merton Position : Deputy SENCo Location : Merton Contract : Full-time, Permanent Are you an experienced educational professional looking for a leadership role in a secondary school setting? Our secondary school in Merton is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Deputy SENCo to support and enhance our SEND provision. About the Role : As Deputy SENCo, you will play a vital role in coordinating and developing the school’s SEND provision, working closely with the SENCo, teachers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Key Responsibilities : Assist the SENCo in managing and implementing SEND provision across the school. Oversee the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Provide guidance and training to staff on effective SEND strategies. Monitor the impact of SEND interventions and suggest improvements as needed. Act as a liaison between parents, staff, and external professionals to ensure the needs of students are met. What We’re Looking For : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice. Experience as a SENCo or Deputy SENCo, ideally within a secondary school setting. Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
