Job description

EQUANS is looking for a Condition Surveyor to join our team in Grimsby. This is a permanent role working full time hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30, £35, depending on skills and experience and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

Equans have identified a great opportunity to introduce a competent Conditioning Surveyor for our Professional Services Team who has a background in the construction industry working both on site and in the office environment. The role will involve working both independently and as a part of the team primarily in carrying out quinquennial condition surveyors of our partners Estate, and reporting back findings to inform on forward programmes of works to maintain the estate.

Equans are looking to employ a confident and motivated professional to work at the North East Lincolnshire Contract who is looking for career and personal development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible to the Surveying Manager and their role will be to carryout the delivery of a comprehensive range of condition surveying services in accordance with client instructions and ensuring they achieve agreed outcomes. The role will allow the Condition Surveyor to programme in the yearly surveys and work with the Surveying manager to support in the delivery of other projects alongside this work.

  • Working with the surveying manager to deliver the programmed Quinquennial Condition Surveys each year. Inputting and recording findings into the Technology forge system and sharing the findings with the relevant team for action where needed.
  • To undertake condition / measured / / dilapidation / pre-acquisition / photographic / general surveys and prepare reports and estimates, accurately assessing property condition and priority of maintenance needs in accordance with Central Government guidelines.
  • Attend to building and / or building services defects, inspect and identify maintenance items, prioritise maintenance requirements and implement works for the repair, maintenance and improvement of buildings and associated land when required.

  • Who are we looking for?

  • Experience and knowledge of building and / or building services construction, installation and maintenance is essential.
  • IT skills and experience of working with database systems are essential.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant legislation and regulations is essential.
  • Qualification in a related HNC e.g. building studies or building surveying or building services and building / building services maintenance techniques or relevant trade based qualification to advanced craft level and substantial experience or related degree and experience is essential and the ability to undertake further relevant technical training is also essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations is essential. e.g. the Building Act, Town and Country Planning Act, Construction Act, the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations, Health & Safety Legislation, Asbestos Regulations and Building Service Installation Legislation.
  • Substantial experience in a building surveying / building services environment.
  • Experience of contract administration and building / building services. projects.
