A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy SENCo to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and helping to drive inclusive practices across the school. You will play a key role in assisting the SENCo to lead and develop the school’s SEN provision , ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed.
Role Highlights :
- Full-time, permanent position at a supportive secondary school in Newham
- Assist the SENCo in leading and managing SEN provision across the school
- Oversee the delivery of tailored support to students with a variety of SEN, including learning difficulties , SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs, and autism
- Provide guidance and support to SEN staff and collaborate with teaching colleagues to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and assess student progress, working closely with staff to ensure effective interventions and adjustments to teaching strategies
- Promote a positive, inclusive ethos , encouraging whole-school awareness and understanding of SEN
- Support with SEN policy development and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students
