Job descriptionExperience in design and testing of analogue, digital, and microcontroller-based systems. Understanding of product and system design and development. Relevant work experience or qualifications, equivalent to / or a HND in electrical / electronic engineering. Further qualifications in electrical / electronic or mechanical engineering, equivalent to / or a 2 : 2 or greater relevant Degree. Experience in electronic schematic capture and PCB design. Experience of RF design, EMC, and signal integrity. Good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes. Keen to learn and improve technical and non-technical skills. Enthusiastic about working with other engineers. Drive and commitment to finish projects to a high standard. Enjoy solving hard problems with innovative solutions. Ability to manage workload and adapt to changing demands. Proactive in planning and improving processes. Effective communication with partners to understand outcomes and expectations. Design, develop, and document electronic PCB systems. Verify designs through testing and peer reviews. Support products and investigate defects. Contribute to library parts creation and project planning. 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 after 5 years’ service. 8 Bank Holiday days off, plus 2½ additional days set through the year. Paid overtime or time off in lieu. Extensive training opportunities and a training budget. Alpha pension scheme. Sports & Social Society. On-site nursery (subject to availability). This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday, or part-time with a minimum coverage of 28 hours per week. Flexible or compressed working hours available.
This role is office based.
Responsibilities include :
- Design, build, and test electronic circuits and printed circuit boards.
- Join a product development team working on hardware products and security solutions.
- Create and maintain electronic hardware for custom-designed security products.
- Modify existing designs and collaborate on new product designs.
- Receive training and support, with a budget for external courses, and dedicate time to innovation and research.
