We are offering an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a self-motivated professional to help drive a step-change in Process Safety and COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) management across Certas Energy .

As a Process Safety Business Partner , you’ll work closely with our Process Safety Manager to coach, mentor, and lead improvements across our terminal and depot operations.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate key process safety activities including HAZID assessments, MAH reviews, gap analyses, and Bow-Tie assessments.

Collaborate with Terminal Managers, Engineering, HSE, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and Certas Energy standards.

Lead the coordination of Management of Change (MOC) documentation and Operational Risk Assessments (ORA) across the organisation.

Support and document internal process safety meetings and incident investigations, ensuring lessons learned are shared and corrective actions are effectively implemented.

Assist in developing and maintaining robust site induction programmes that clearly communicate COMAH and Process Safety expectations to visitors and contractors.

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Incident Response Plans, MAH reports, and other critical process safety documentation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a driven and energetic safety professional with a proactive approach to mentoring and coaching. You should be capable of working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Essential Skills and Experience

Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate, Process Safety NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent experience).

Experience working in process industries (e.g., oil & gas, tank storage, pharmaceuticals, FMCG).

Knowledge of key regulations and best practices including COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX, PUWER, functional safety (SIL), machinery safety, and hazardous area classification.

Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and associated ACOPs and guidance.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard business tools.

Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sites, with flexibility for virtual meetings and on-site presence.

Desirable Qualifications

NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it.

Tech IOSH membership or higher.

Familiarity with tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, LOPA, FSA, ORA, and MOC.

Track record in managing Process Safety incidents in COMAH-regulated environments.
