Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding role that fits around your commitments? If you share our values and you’re ready for some job satisfaction, then look no further!

Our fabulous team in Kilmarnock are looking to expand their bank pool and are on the lookout for compassionate and creative individuals with a positive attitude to join them as Bank Support Practitioners.

Our bank contracts will give you flexibility over the days and hours you work; tell us when you're available and we'll look to give you shifts to fit.

You don't need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Bank Support Practitioner.

Due to requirements within the service, we can only accept applications from female candidates with a valid driving licence (for manual vehicles) and access to their own car.

The Role

As a Bank Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role within our team. You will cover shifts to ensure continued high-quality, person-centred care and support during times of annual leave, training, or sickness.

You'll support individuals living in their own homes in the community with disabilities and / or additional support needs. As a Bank Support Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling, and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.

The people we support enjoy being active in their communities, from arts and crafts to watching football and going out for a tasty bite to eat; the list is endless. We also have a few people we support who volunteer or attend college. We’ll be looking to you to take an active interest in their hobbies and enable individuals to explore new opportunities.

To be part of our team, we’ll need you to :

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Good observation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated and friendly team provides 24 / 7 support which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so depending on shift length, you may be supporting more than one individual, but do not worry as we factor travel into your hours. Our shifts include earlies, days, lates, and sleepovers.

Benefits

  • TRFS rewards scheme (includes cash-back and discounts at a variety of high street and online retailers)
  • Paid travel during shifts and 45p per mile fuel allowance.
  • Continuous in-house training opportunities and chances to further your career in social care.
  • Refer a Friend scheme - £150 reward for successfully referring a colleague.
  • Employee Forum - for employees to voice their opinions and give feedback which in turn, allows us to continuously improve as an employer and ensure a positive working environment.
  • Free Membership of Glasgow Credit Union.
  • HSF Health Care plan.
  • Counselling & Life Works service.
  • We’re looking to fill these posts as soon as possible and reserve the right to close the advert if suitable candidates are found before the advert closes. To avoid disappointment, please submit your application early.

Closing Date : 04 / 03 / 25 (We reserve the right to close this vacancy at any time)

If you are applying via a job board, please be aware that you must submit an application via our website; otherwise, we will be unable to contact you!

All successful Bank Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer; this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG. Having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of their start date.

We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status, or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams.

We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us!

Schedule 9 Part 1 (1)(1)(a) of the Equality Act 2010 applies to this post.
