This role does not offer sponsorship.As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our close-knit team at Underley Garden School, part of Options Autism.About the roleAs Cover Supervisor your main objective is to provide high-quality teaching and learning cover across the school. The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for leading whole classes, managing challenging behaviours, and ensuring all pupils remain focused and on track to meet their lesson objectives. This role is crucial in maintaining consistency and continuity of education for the pupils, particularly when teachers are absent or engaged in other school activities.Key ResponsibilitiesTo cover some timetabled classes throughout the week in addition to covering general absence etc.Deliver high quality lessons and occasionally deal with challenging behaviour in the classroomMaking sure all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectivesPrepare the classroom for lessonsAlso, as a member of staff at our school you would contribute to : The development, organisation and implementation of the school’s policy for the personal and social development of pupils including pastoral care and guidanceThe effective induction of pupils – baseline assessmentsThe promotion among pupils of standards of conduct / discipline and proper regard for authority and the encouragement of good behaviourAbout UsUnderley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils, aged 5-19, who have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including complex communication, sensory and behavioural needs associated with their disabilities.Our School adopts a holistic, person-centred approach to the development of our pupils and endeavours to ensure that they achieve as high a standard as possible.
