ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Our client is seeking a motivated and passionate Early Career Teacher of Sociology to join their thriving Social Sciences department at a mixed all-through academy in Ilford. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher who is enthusiastic about Sociology and eager to make a positive impact on students’ academic development.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key duties will include :
Planning and delivering high-quality Sociology lessons, primarily at KS5 (A-Level), with opportunities for involvement in KS4 enrichment
Promoting a learning environment that fosters curiosity, debate, and critical analysis
Assessing student work and progress effectively, and using data to inform future planning
Participating fully in the school’s ECT programme, including training and professional development
Supporting students’ academic progress and pastoral wellbeing
Contributing to the development of curriculum and resources in the Social Sciences department
Collaborating with colleagues and engaging positively with parents and carers
WHAT OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will :
Hold or be on track to achieve QTS by September 2025
Hold a relevant degree in Sociology or a closely related field
Have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Sociology
Be committed to inclusive, high-quality education for all students
Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
Be reflective, collaborative, and eager to develop professionally
Be enthusiastic about contributing to the broader life of the school community
