I am currently recruiting for an enthusiastic teaching assistant for a secondary academy in south Manchester.

The role is offered initially on a temporary basis from as soon as possible until Christmas , possibly beyond.

The Role

Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning, predominantly with students in year 10 and year 11

Five days a week - 8.15am to 2.45pm

The TA will be : -

Supporting students on a 1 to 1 basis or in small groups.

Specifically supporting year 10 and year 11 students with positive attitudes towards GCSE study

Helping students overcome barriers to learning

Supporting teenagers with mental health needs and anxiety

Occasionally, acting as a reader and scribe in examinations and assessments.

Work collaboratively with other members of the SEN team, senior leaders and wider school.

To join us and be successful in this TA role, you will need to :

• Have a minimum of six weeks' experience of working with children aged 11 to 16 supported by references
• This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
• Provide a CV with 10 years of employment / education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
• Have the legal right to work in the UK
• Bachelor's degree or teaching assistant qualifications
• We welcome applications from candidates with experience of youth work, alternative provisions or social services or other experience of supporting teenagers with mental health needs
