GSL Education are seeking individuals who are looking to build their experience of working with children and in schools. We are looking for passionate individuals who are wanting to build a career in working with children. We can offer full or part time and flexible days to offer work around you. As a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of different schools and with children of different ages and abilities. You do not need any qualifications! We will provide you a Level 2 Teaching Assistant course, FREE for individuals with the right experience but you must have the drive and passion to make a difference to the lives of children. You will mostly be working alongside the class teacher to provide support to the children and in some cases on a 1 : 1 basis. The needs of the children can vary, and in some cases the children may have learning difficulties.

The role of a Teaching Assistant can be a challenging one so patience, a friendly approach and a good sense of humour are required. If you have dreamed about working with children, or stepping into education I would love to get you your first steps onto your journey!

The main duties as a Teaching Assistant will include :

• Supporting the pupils in their education
• Supporting and managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Working with the class teacher to implement academic or social interventions
• Supporting and delivering creative and innovative lessons
• Using formative and summative assessment
• Supporting with or assessing phonics following the school’s chosen program
• Promoting independence with life skills
• Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
