Manufacturing Process EngineerLocation : Northwest UKSalary : £50,000Contract : 6-month fixed term (potential to extend in keeping with IR35)The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join a market-leading engineering company, known for delivering complex fabrications and advanced engineering solutions. This role will play a key part in optimising manufacturing processes and driving improvements across quality, efficiency, and overall production performance.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and refine manufacturing processes for large, complex fabrications.Identify areas for improvement, focusing on cycle time reduction, error-proofing, and fixture / tooling design.Analyse quality data to develop and implement effective improvement action plans.Foster a culture of continuous improvement with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and lean manufacturing.Coordinate cross-functional efforts to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency.Lead problem-solving and process improvement activities using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D).Contribute to new product development by assessing and advising on manufacturability.Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.Drive corrective actions to resolve manufacturing quality issues.What We’re Looking ForHND or Advanced / Higher Apprenticeship in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering (degree-qualified candidates also welcome).Experience in a manufacturing / process engineering role within a technical or industrial setting.Strong understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement tools.SAP planning experience is desirable.Confident problem-solver with experience leading cross-functional teams.What’s on Offer£50,000 salaryGenerous pension scheme (up to 7% employer contribution)Flexible working, including half-day FridaysLife assurance and company sick pay (increasing with service)Free, unreserved on-site parkingThis is a great opportunity to join a well-established engineering business with a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and delivering excellence in manufacturing.By applying for this position, you consent to Recruit Engineering processing and storing your personal data, including your CV, contact details, and any other relevant information, for the purpose of providing work-finding services.
