A wonderful opportunity has presented to work in a 'Good' rated school based in Heaton Chapel, Stockport. This Year 5 teaching role commences September 2024 until February / potentially Easter and provides an exciting chance to work for a strong educational leader and supportive team of staff! The role will be paid to scale (MPS 1-6) and could lead to permanency depending on school movement. Being a larger than average school, there are ranging opportunities to propel your career and demonstrate what an asset you can be to the school!

Currently there are over 500 pupils on roll with specialist staff for French, PE and Forest school in addition to class teachers, teaching assistants and SNA's. With a school so well staffed with excellent facilities - this is a position not to be missed!

About the Role

As the Year 5 teacher, you will be leading an average class size of around 28-30 pupils with a small % with SEND needs, some of which are on EHCP's. As a two-form entry school, you will benefit from a planning partner who is well established and familiar with the curriculum schemes who will be a fantastic support as you learn the schools' systems and structures.

You will be required to :

• Undertake full class teaching responsibilities including planning, assessment, effective delegation to teaching assistants, writing and reviewing EHCPs etc
• Support children to have a can-do attitude and have the confidence to take risks with their learning, understanding that mistakes are part of the learning process.
• Follow the White Rose Maths scheme and implement a range of texts to support writing across different genres and encourage reading for pleasure.
• Communicate effectively with classroom assistants and wider school staff such as the SENDCo to report on pupil progress
• Be a dedicated teacher who will fully embrace the opportunity and be a fantastic addition to the KS2 department and school as a whole.

This position is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers, but direct experience in KS2 will be required. Before applying, please ensure you meet the criteria below :
