We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Deputy Head to join a specialist Alternative Provision / PRU in Havering. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent leadership role presents an exciting opportunity to shape inclusive education strategies and support students who thrive in a non-mainstream environment.
As Deputy Head, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing school-wide strategies that promote engagement, academic achievement, and well-being. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will drive teaching excellence, behaviour management, and staff development to ensure high standards of learning and student progress.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader looking to step into a high-impact position within an Alternative Provision setting. While experience in PRUs or similar specialist settings is desirable, it is not essential, as full training and professional development opportunities will be available.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and support staff in creating an inclusive, structured, and engaging learning environment.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve academic progress, behaviour, and student engagement.
- Mentor and coach teachers, promoting outstanding classroom practice and professional growth.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for learners.
- Monitor student progress, using data-driven approaches to inform teaching and intervention strategies.
- Drive behavioural and pastoral initiatives, ensuring students receive tailored support for their well-being and success.
- Work closely with the Headteacher to oversee operational, curriculum, and staffing matters.
- Ensure the school maintains exceptional safeguarding and welfare standards in line with statutory requirements.
