SEN Teaching Assistant

Primary School – Tewkesbury

Are you passionate about significantly improving the life of a young learner with special educational needs? Would you like to be the difference that enables a child with educational needs to overcome their barriers? A fulfilling SEN Teaching Assistant role for future psychologists, therapists, counsellors and SENCOs has become available to provide invaluable experience for future careers.

A highly-regarded primary school in Tewkesbury are searching for an SEN Teaching Assistant to be employed on an immediate and long-term basis. The SEN child has an educational, health and care plan (EHCP) that details specific targets, outcomes and strategies for the child. The SEN Teaching Assistant role demands a dedicated and caring individual who will be patient and take time to understand the specific needs of the SEN child. The primary school are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is charismatic, empathetic and demonstrates a genuine desire to make a positive impact to children with SEN. Previous experience with working with children with Autism is admirable for this SEN Teaching Assistant position.

This is a tremendous opportunity for obtaining experience within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector as you will have the chance in your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant to observe, work-alongside and collaborate with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and teachers with SEN specialisms.

80 - £95 per day

The widely-regarded primary school has excellent transport links and has on-site parking. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will need to be fully committed to the child on a long-term basis. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be working extremely closely with the class teacher and SENCO, therefore being provided with specialist and expert support and training that will be vital for your personal development.
