NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a permanent, part-time post of 18.5 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday.
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
This post is a Job share arrangement and a working pattern of 18.5 or 15 hours / week will be considered.
Working within the Public Health and Health Improvement Directorate, you will be responsible for co-ordinating, developing and delivering a comprehensive Health Improvement Workforce Development programme. This post will lead on health behaviour change training to underpin programmes such as smoking cessation and weight management as well as core skills associated with long term condition management.
Your role will include both commissioning and direct delivery of training to Health Improvement colleagues and a wide range of audiences including undergraduates, clinical and medical staff, Allied Health Professionals, administrative staff and voluntary sector partners to improve health and reduce health inequalities.
As part of our annual training calendar you will develop, deliver and promote health behaviour change courses and practice development support. This will include internal capacity building and training for trainer models.
You will lead on the development and delivery of specialist tobacco and health improvement training, including regular updates for smoking cessation specialists to ensure evidence based practice is maintained.
Educated to degree level, you will have proven experience of working in Health Improvement with sound knowledge of principles and practice. You will have extensive experience in delivering training programmes and will be able to evidence knowledge of health behavior change theories and practice. You should also have experience of project planning, management and implementation and partnership working.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
