Following the Conductive Education approach, Ingfield Manor School focuses on the holistic development of everyone, including their physical and communication skills. Our residential provision, Acorns, provides respite care for students from Monday to Friday during term time.We are looking for a Support Worker to be part of a team of three responsible for the care and general wellbeing of our young people between the core hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am on Wednesday and Thursdays during term time.  For all posts you should have a related level 3 qualification, or the willingness to acquire it ‘on the job’ and be experienced in working with children or young people.About The RoleTo be part of a team of three responsible for care and general wellbeing of the young people between the core hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am. An earlier start time may be indicated on some nights. Salary / Rate : £13,594 - £13,755 pa (£12.70 - £12.85 per hour) dependent upon experience  [FTE 52wks £24,416 - £26,728]Wednesday and Thursday, 7 : 00pm to 7 : 00am Term Time only (39 weeks).  24hrs / week. Permanent role.  Job ResponsibilitiesTo assist young people with nighttime / evening routines, (getting into bed) as well as their getting up routines.Make 15-minute routine checks on the young people through the night and attend to their nighttime requirements (e.g. personal care).Routine laundry and hygiene / light domestic tasks will be fitted in between bedroom checksComplete appropriate paperwork, such as night logs and wellbeing records before going off duty.Liaise with evening and early morning duty staff to include a formal handover, to ascertain any specific problems which need to be noted and acted upon.Take a role in fire evacuation proceduresChecking the security of the premisesProvide good standards of physical and emotional careEnsure the physical environment is maintained to high standards of safety, hygiene and presentationTo demonstrate a commitment to excellence and deliver against the requirements of the organisation and any regulatory inspectionsParticipate in the staff training and development programme.The work involves the physical facilitation of students and the moving of furniture and equipmentThis job description should not be seen as all encompassing, and the post holder will be expected to undertake any other responsibilities appropriate to the post as identified by the company.The post holder will further Salutem’s vision and comply with the policies and procedures of Salutem and the school.  This job description will be kept under review to ensure that it remains up to date.  The post holder will be consulted about any proposed changes. Salutem Care and Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
